Needing 1G of memory is pretty much a hard constraint.

I'm unconvinced by the external USB. USB generally isn't great, certainly the older stuff was pretty poor, and our USB stack hasn't really seen much optimisation. Add to that the fact that illumos has a fairly low tolerance for errors and I would be wary.Peter Tribblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09363446984245451854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9726833.post-60732170273490866222021-02-09T00:47:43.768+00:002021-02-09T00:47:43.768+00:00Hi Peter,
Can Triblix boot on a SPARC V100 or V12...Hi Peter,

Can Triblix boot on a SPARC V100 or V120?

These units are fairly low powered, in A/C :-), temperature :-), and speed :-(

My thought was using an rpool boot, solid state IDE for L2ARC, tune down ZFS ARC cache to free memory, and use external USB for storage.

I am not sure how far Triblix will bring me to a SPARC Illumos distribution.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00490096261085972137noreply@blogger.com
